Living out West really spoils us as fly fisherman. We have some of the most abundant trout fisheries and we have these because of the food sources that are available to the fish. Every year between June and August(depending on where you’re at) we get one of the biggest Mayflies on the planet hatching on our waters, the Western Green Drake! Not only are they huge(small ones are around a size 12), but new adults have some of the coolest colors seen in nature and it drives trout insane! We took a few naturals from the Provo River last year and made this representation to imitate them and we can say with full confidence, this fly is fish crack! Fast or slow water, this fly floats like a cork and fish will take it anywhere. It makes a great dry/dropper(throw any small, dark nymph underneath it and you’ll be netting fish) fly and it it’s highly visible. Our favorite is the size 10 for the Provo. Sold in packs of 6.
